Hello, I'm Sammy.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my website.
My path into coaching and hypnotherapy hasn't been a straight one, and perhaps that's one of the reasons I value this work so much. Like many of the people I now work with, I've experienced periods of uncertainty, significant life change and the challenge of trying to find a path that felt right.
Before retraining, I spent fifteen years working in Human Resources, supporting people through many of the challenges that working life can bring. It was rewarding work, but over time I realised that what mattered most to me wasn't policies, procedures or organisational targets—it was the individual sitting in front of me.
That realisation eventually led me to leave my HR career and begin a new chapter focused entirely on helping people create positive, lasting change in their own lives.
In 2025 I began retraining as both a coach and hypnotherapist. I achieved a Level 3 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring with Inspire Culture before undertaking an ICF-accredited Level 2 Coaching Programme in Business and Life Coaching with Barefoot Coaching. At the same time, I completed my Practitioner Diploma in Hypnotherapy with MindWorks Therapy Training.
Choosing to train in both coaching and hypnotherapy was a deliberate decision. Coaching helps people gain clarity, challenge unhelpful thinking and move forward with purpose. Hypnotherapy complements that process by helping reinforce positive change at a subconscious level. Together, they provide a flexible, evidence-informed approach that can be adapted to each person's unique needs.
My aim is always the same: to provide a calm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can think clearly, understand yourself better and make meaningful changes that last.
Outside of work, I'm married and have a daughter who keeps life interesting and reminds me not to take myself too seriously. Away from coaching and hypnotherapy, I enjoy photography, cooking, travelling and reading. I'm particularly interested in Roman history, and Rome remains my favourite place in the world—a city I always look forward to returning to.
I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and change. Sometimes all we need is the right environment, the right support and the opportunity to see ourselves—and our situation—from a different perspective.
If that sounds like the kind of support you're looking for, I'd be delighted to hear from you.
Why I do this work
There was a time when, from the outside, my life looked like it was heading in the right direction.
I had built a successful career in Human Resources after returning to university while working full time. I genuinely believed HR would allow me to do what had always mattered most to me: help people.
And in many ways, it did.
But over time, something no longer felt right.
I found myself increasingly uncomfortable with how often the needs of the business took priority over the wellbeing of the people within it. The work that had once given me purpose gradually became a source of stress, and eventually that stress turned into burnout.
Walking away from my career was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made.
I didn't have a clear plan. I just knew that I couldn't continue on the path I was following.
Looking back, that period of uncertainty became one of the most important turning points in my life.
I went on to work for Citizens Advice, supporting people who were facing difficult and often overwhelming circumstances. It was an inspiring organisation, full of compassionate people making a real difference every day.
But once again, I found myself wanting to do more.
Many of the people I met needed more than information or practical advice. They needed the time and space to think, to process what they were experiencing, to rebuild their confidence, and to find a way forward.
That was when everything became clear.
The way I truly wanted to help people wasn't by solving problems for them.
It was by helping them discover that they were capable of solving them for themselves.
That realisation led me to train as both a coach and a hypnotherapist.
Today, I work with people who feel overwhelmed by stress, stuck at a crossroads, lacking confidence, or simply asking themselves, "Is this really how I want life to be?"
My role isn't to tell people what to do.
It's to walk alongside them as they gain clarity, overcome the obstacles holding them back, and build the confidence and resilience to create lasting change.
Because I know from personal experience that life can feel overwhelming.
But I also know that with the right support, the right tools and a willingness to change, life can look very different.
And that's why I do this work.
