Coaching + Hypnotherapy
Sometimes change benefits from more than one approach
There are times when coaching is exactly what you need.
You may want space to think, gain clarity, explore your options, challenge assumptions and decide what you want to do differently.
At other times, you may understand something perfectly well at a conscious level — but find that your feelings or automatic responses don't seem to have received the message.
And sometimes, both things are happening at once.
That's where combining coaching and hypnotherapy can be useful.
Rather than asking you to choose one approach in advance, we can draw on both where appropriate — using coaching to help you understand what's happening and decide what you want to change, and hypnotherapy to work differently with some of the thoughts, feelings and automatic responses that may be getting in the way.
Why combine coaching and hypnotherapy?
Coaching and hypnotherapy work in different ways.
Coaching gives us space to explore
Through coaching, we can step back from what's happening, explore different perspectives, identify patterns, clarify what you want and develop practical ways of moving forward.
It can help you understand what's happening and what you want to do differently.
Hypnotherapy gives us another way of working
Sometimes insight alone doesn't change how something feels.
You might understand that you have no reason to doubt yourself — and still experience self-doubt.
You might know that a situation isn't dangerous — and still experience an automatic fear response.
You might recognise that you need to switch off — and still find your mind racing when you finally stop.
Hypnotherapy gives us another way of working with some of those thoughts, feelings and automatic responses.
Putting the two together
An integrated approach allows us to move between the two depending on what would be most useful.
That doesn't necessarily mean every session is half coaching and half hypnotherapy.
One session might involve considerably more coaching. Another may focus predominantly on hypnotherapy. Sometimes we may use elements of both within the same session.
The important thing is that the approach follows what you need rather than you having to fit yourself into a particular method.
When might an integrated approach be useful?
Combining coaching and hypnotherapy may be worth considering when there is both something you want to understand or work through and a feeling, pattern or response you'd like to experience differently.
For example:
Confidence
Coaching can help us understand where your confidence changes, what you're telling yourself and how you want to approach situations differently.
Hypnotherapy may then be used to support a different emotional response and reinforce feelings of confidence and capability.
Stress and pressure
Coaching can help you explore what's creating pressure, how you're responding to it, where boundaries or priorities may need to change and what is within your control.
Hypnotherapy can complement that work by helping you develop a greater sense of calm and practise responding differently when pressure arises.
Change and feeling stuck
Sometimes you know what you want to do but repeatedly find yourself pulled back towards familiar patterns.
Coaching can help us explore the decision, obstacles and practical way forward, while hypnotherapy can provide another way of working with some of the responses that may be making change difficult.
Preparing for challenging situations
Perhaps you're facing an interview, presentation, difficult conversation, important meeting or another situation where both preparation and emotional response matter.
Coaching can help with how you want to approach the situation; hypnotherapy can support how you would like to feel when you're actually in it.
These are examples rather than a definitive list. We'll decide together whether using both approaches is appropriate for what you want to work on.
What happens in the sessions?
We start by understanding you, rather than deciding in advance how much coaching or hypnotherapy you need.
Your first session may last up to 90 minutes, giving us additional time to explore what's happening, what you'd like to change and what seems to be maintaining the current pattern.
From there, we'll agree how we want to work.
Subsequent sessions are normally around 60 minutes.
We may use coaching, hypnotherapy or elements of both depending on what emerges and what seems most useful at that point.
I'll explain what I'm suggesting and why. Nothing is done to you, and you remain involved in deciding the direction of our work throughout.
Sessions are delivered online via Microsoft Teams or Google Meet.
Investment
Four-Session Coaching + Hypnotherapy Package — £430
The package includes your initial session of up to 90 minutes, followed by three further sessions, normally around 60 minutes each.
This gives us time to understand what's happening, work with it using the approaches most appropriate to you, and adapt what we're doing as things begin to change.
The package isn't divided into a predetermined number of coaching and hypnotherapy sessions. The balance is tailored to you and may change as our work develops.
All work begins with a complimentary 30-minute consultation, where we can discuss what you'd like help with and consider whether coaching, hypnotherapy or an integrated approach seems most appropriate.

Do I need to know which approach I need?
No. You don't need to arrive saying:
“I need two coaching sessions and two hypnotherapy sessions.”
In fact, I wouldn't expect you to.
Part of my role is to help us think about which approach is likely to be most useful and when.
It may become clear during our consultation that standalone coaching or standalone hypnotherapy would be more appropriate. If that's the case, I'll say so.
I don't recommend combining the approaches simply because I happen to offer both.
The integrated package is there for situations where drawing on both genuinely adds something useful to the work.
Not sure where to start?
That's exactly what the complimentary consultation is for.
We'll spend around 30 minutes talking about what's happening, what you'd like to be different and what kind of support might be most useful.
I'll explain how I work and answer any questions you have. We can then decide whether coaching, hypnotherapy or a combination of both seems the best place to begin.
There's no obligation to book afterwards.
